As Vince Neil prepares for Motley Crue’s return to the road on this summer’s stadium tour (36 dates, over 1 million tickets sold to date, VIP ticket prices over $1000) , he may not be the first person you might turn to for advice on payday loans.
But here we are. Neil has teamed up with Dollar Loan Center, a Las Vegas-based short-term lender, for a new ad. The ad was filmed at Dollar Loan Center Arena in Henderson, Nevada, home of local hockey team the Silver Knights, and features Neil wandering the ice behind the wheel of a Zamboni.
The plot centers around a futuristic “loan approval machine” [named after The Cult’s Love Removal Machine? Perhaps we’ll never know], a large device maintained by a team of attractive technicians. Neil asks for a loan, along with a song that contains the lyrics “Loan Approval Machine / Lightning Fast Approvals / Lightning Fast Approvals / Approvals“. Alarms are ringing, lights are flashing and before you know it, Neil’s loan is approved, very quickly, just as the song predicted.
If that doesn’t give you the confidence to seek out a loan, maybe Neil’s final testimonial will. “Yeessssssssssssssssssssssssss. he exclaims, raising his arms in triumph. “This loan approval machine rocks!”
It’s unclear why Neil is applying for a payday loan.
The Stadium Tour with Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison, Joan Jett and Classless Act, will launch next month in Atlanta, Georgia, and wraps up in September in Las Vegas. Full dates below – tickets are on sale now.
