KOTA KINABALU: Former Chief Minister of Sabah Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak stressed the importance of the political history of the state, especially in relation to development policy, housing and housing policy. ‘autonomy.

Salleh said that since gaining independence, Sabah has prioritized development, including good infrastructure, job creation and education.
He said Sabah embraced political change long before the Semenanjung.
âWe believe that the power (to elect the government) is with us (the rakyat). If we don’t like it, we can change the government, âhe said.
Salleh said in his remarks in a forum in collaboration with Sabah from the Ground – Rethinking Sabah: Discourses and Debates, which was broadcast live on social media on Friday.
The Usukan assembly member said Sabah also practices a policy of moderation in all aspects of life to ensure that the state continues to enjoy peace and harmony.
âIf we look at the history of Sabah, there is an appropriate arrangement between us – Muslim Bumiputera, non-Muslim Bumiputera and not Bumiputera.
âAs far as Sabah is concerned, we are working together in particular to move away from the clutches of the colonial powers,â he said.
Regarding the autonomy policy, Salleh said the Sabahans continue to be united to fight for the rights of Sabah.
In this regard, he urged the population not to politicize the issues of the 1963 Malaysian Accord (MA63) and illegal immigrants in Sabah.
âWhen we fight for the rights of the Sabahans, we need to work together⦠.. issues relating to MA63 and illegal immigrants need to be depoliticized.
âThese don’t belong to any political party⦠they belong to Sabah. Everyone should fight for the rights of Sabah, âhe said.
