Canada Jetlines selects Safran wheels and carbon brakes for its A320 Family fleet

Canada Jetlines, the new all-Canadian leisure carrier, scheduled to travel in the summer of 2022 to serve multiple Canadian, US, Caribbean and Mexican destinations from its main hub in Toronto, Ontario, has selected the wheels and carbon brakes of Safran Landing Systems to equip its Airbus Fleet A320.

As part of this long-term agreement, Safran Landing Systems will supply carbon wheels, brakes and heat sinks manufactured at its US factory in Walton, Kentucky, while maintenance and logistics services will be provided by Hope Aero. Lighter and more resistant thanks to its high-performance carbon material and superior anti-oxidation protective coating, Safran Landing Systems‘A320-the family of carbon brakes allows airlines to make significant savings in terms of maintenance costs. In addition, thanks to their minimal weight, they contribute to the reduction of the operators’ fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Safran Landing Systems is the world leader in the A319 and A320 wheels and carbon brakes market, currently equipping nearly 5,000 aircraft, or more than 70% of the global A320 family fleet.

With a projected growth of 15 aircraft by 2025, Canada Jetlines is controlling its operating costs to offer its passengers ever more affordable flights.
