Nascar star Hailie Deegan’s photo with Trump has been called ‘sensitive content’ by Twitter and no one knows why

NASCAR star Hailie Deegan excitedly posted a photo she took with President Donald Trump and Melania on Sunday, February 16 at Daytona 500. Shortly after posting the photo, it was flagged as “sensitive content.” by Twitter.

On Saturday, hours after POTUS announced on Twitter that it would attend the 2020 Daytona 500 in Florida, the 18-year-old Trump supporter took to social media and set a goal for himself. “Today’s goal. Get my helmet signed by Trump,” she wrote.

His tweet was retweeted by Donald Trump Jr., who jokingly wrote, “DM me … maybe I know someone.”

Between making a speech, stopping for an interview and making a first quarter turn around the track with his full presidential motorcade, the president has found the time to make the teenager’s dream come true. After signing Deegan’s racing helmet, he and the first lady even took a photo with her.

Deegan posted on photo on twitter, with the caption “Goal completed” followed by a green check mark. However, anyone who visits their social media page is greeted with the message “The following media includes potentially sensitive content” instead of the image thumbnail. It is only when one clicks on the display option on the right side of the message that one can see the photo.

While many people congratulated her on the photo, others were outraged that Twitter reported the post.

“Twitter has marked this image as ‘sensitive’ because they hate America,” one user wrote, while another said: “@twitter continues to choke, ban shadows, minimize all the obvious ways … “

A third commented: “He’s ‘sensitive material’ because lib heads are exploding every moment he’s at # DAYTONA500 @realDonaldTrump is the founder of #boss #snowflake.”

According to Twitter Policy Regarding sensitive content, “All Twitter accounts have media settings to help Twitter understand the type of media you are posting and to help us help others find the type of content they are interested in. By properly marking your media settings , Twitter can identify potentially sensitive content that other users might not want to see, such as violence or nudity. “

Importantly, Twitter has categorized its reporting criteria under five sub headings – graphic violence, adult content, violent sexual behavior, gratuitous gore, and hate images – none of which match the description of the photo Deegan uploaded.

Contacted by MEAWW, a Twitter spokesperson said the post was flagged as sensitive due to the media settings of the person who tweeted it.
