As part of post-insurgency projects, the World Bank’s Multi-Sector Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) Technical Support Mission for the Northeast (Yobe) took place on Friday in Damaturu, the capital of the ‘State.
World Bank team members include Serena Cavicchi, Task Team Leader, Chidozie AG, Agricultural Economist, Anas Abba Kyari, Principal Procurement Specialist.
The others are Professor Ahmed Chinade Environmental Safeguard and Nkem Uzochukun C1 and C3 specialist.
The term is in the state for the Technical Assistance Mission to inspect the Yobe State MCRP projects on the implementation of the ongoing projects and Supplementary Financing (AF) of the projects across the state which is supported by the World Bank.
They were received by MCRP’s Yobe State Project Coordinator, Musa Idi Jidawa, and led to the site of the newly renovated 250-seat Yobe State Government Community Hall.
The Chairman of the Damaturu Local Government Council represented by the Director of Personnel Management, Abubakar Yayangida Ibrahim, appreciated Governor Mai Mala Buni, MCRP and the World Bank for delivering the project.
For his part, Yobe State MCRP Project Coordinator, Musa Idi Jidawa, informed that the venue is used to discuss issues that will promote peaceful coexistence among members of the Damaturu community.
The team traveled to Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu to inspect the planned expansion of the state’s MCRP women’s hostel, then moved to the newly renovated and upgraded doctors’ quarters .
They also visited the Nayinawa Primary Health Care Center to assess the rehabilitation and modernization of the facility.
At the MCRP office in Yobe, the team held implementation and sustainability plan discussions with the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) where the technical mission engagement was specifically tailored with the technical staff government agencies.
