RHS WISLEY’s popular Taste of Autumn event is back for 2021 with spectacular fall displays, an abundance of seasonal produce to sample and, for the first time ever, live cooking demonstrations inside the RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science recently opened.
Taste of Autumn takes place at RHS Garden Wisley, just off the A3 near the junction with the M25, from October 13-17.
A feast for the eyes – the garden will be awash in color, with fabulous fall exhibits designed by garden curators RHS Wisley. Highlights include the awe-inspiring hordes of squash under the cherry trees, providing a patchwork quilt in autumnal tones.
Visitors can admire delicious Wisley produce, as well as sample a wide selection of local goodies at 30 artisan food and drink stalls – from cheese and chocolate to spirits and sweets.
New for 2021, live cooking demonstrations will take place at the Cooking Theater inside RHS Hilltop. A list of culinary connoisseurs, including gardening influencer Lucy Hutchings (She Grows Veg), food writer Lerato Umah-Shaylor, “no dig guru” Charles Dowding, TV presenter Mr Plant Geek and BOSH! are among the hosts of the daily talks.
A highlight of the festival is popular apple identification, with gardeners invited to present their own apples to fruit specialist RHS Wisley who will identify their mystery cultivars. The RHS Edibles team will also be on hand to offer expert advice and tours of the World Food Garden and orchards daily at 10:30 am.
Admission to Taste of Autumn is free for RHS members, normal garden admission applies to non-members. Advance reservations are essential for conferences and cooking demonstrations.
