Ajunwa coaches Obasanjo and others at launch of N6b sports development center – the Sun Nigeria

Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church C&S Worldwide Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi are expected in Lagos for the launch of Chioma Ajunwa Foundation N6b Sports and Youths Development Center.

Nigeria’s first and only individual Olympic gold medalist Ajunwa-Opara rolls out the red carpets for the launch of the sports center which is expected to revive the development of sport in the country.

The event scheduled for the Muson Center in Onikan on October 8, 2021 will bring together Cream de la Cream in Nigerian society from all walks of life especially sports fans.

The Sunday Dare Youth and Sports Minister Eze ndi Igbo in Lagos State, among other dignitaries, is also expected at the launch of the time.

The facility, which will be located on 2.5 hectares of land in Owerri, Imo State, will include 250 hostels for boys and girls, a 3-star hotel, vocational training centers, sports radio, schools primary and secondary, among other amenities.

Speaking at a press briefing to announce the date and location of the launch, which will also mark the 25th anniversary of her Olympic gold medal in Lagos on Thursday, Chioma Ajunwa-Opara, Deputy Commissioner of Police (ACP), revealed that his foundation has uncovered some outstanding talents that will be showcased in no time.

The sports legend has expressed concern that young people have developed nerves for crime rather than embracing the sport, hence his determination to change the trend.
