Accommodation of attendants in government hospitals in Dasara


Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Friday asked relevant officials to immediately identify appropriate places to house attendants accompanying patients at major hospitals in Hyderabad. He also asked them to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner at subsidized prices, in conjunction with the Hare Krishna Mission Charitable Foundation.

A large number of assistants as well as patients come to hospitals like NIMS, Niloufer, Osmania, Gandhi Hospital, TIMS, King Koti, Fever Hospital, MJ Cancer Hospital and Government Maternity Hospital, among others. The Chief Secretary has requested that these provisions be made available from the Dasara festival.

This will benefit a large number of attendants accompanying patients, he observed. Necessary arrangements such as adequate shelter, potable water, sanitary facilities, etc., for comfortable waiting of attendants, with due regard to the needs of attendants, would also be provided.

Following an assurance recently given by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to the State Assembly, the Chief Secretary held a meeting with senior officials of the medical and health department as well as directors of the principal Hyderabad public hospitals here. He called on them to take action and resolve the problems faced by chaperones in the absence of suitable accommodation and other facilities.

Health Secretary SAM Rizvi, CEO of Hare Krishna Kaunteya Das Mission Charitable Foundation, CMO OSD Dr Gangadhar, Director General of TSMSIDC Chandrashekar and directors of other major hospitals in Hyderabad attended the meeting. .
